Malaysian cybersecurity innovator Incyber Technology has unveiled its latest initiative, Nusantara AI, a sovereign artificial intelligence platform designed to redefine how nations build, control, and protect their digital intelligence infrastructure.
With the bold tagline “Sovereign Intelligence, Global Trust” the initiative aims to position Malaysia as Asia’s number one country where AI delivers real, measurable outcomes - not just conversation and hype.
Speaking about the project, Incyber representatives emphasized that the goal is not to “talk about AI,” but to deliver tangible results that directly strengthen national security, defense readiness, and technological independence.
“AI must serve national interests - not marketing slogans. With Nusantara AI, we are proving that Malaysia can lead the region in developing sovereign systems that protect our data, secure our borders, and empower our government with real intelligence,”
At the core of Nusantara AI lies the Mongoosta Defense Layer - a hardware and communication platform integrating AI-powered situational awareness, encryption, and satellite connectivity. Mongoosta acts as the defense backbone for secure operations, combining physical intelligence gathering with digital analysis - creating a hybrid ecosystem that’s both resilient and sovereign.
Nusantara AI aims to achieve four primary objectives for Malaysia:
1. Full Data Sovereignty: Ensuring all critical AI infrastructure and encryption remain under Malaysian control.
2. Defense Integration: Deploying Mongoosta hardware across defense and intelligence agencies.
3. National AI Research Center: Establishing local facilities for AI innovation, encryption, and satellite monitoring.
4. Regional Leadership: Positioning Malaysia as the trusted provider of sovereign AI solutions in ASEAN.
Incyber’s approach combines AI-driven threat detection, counter-espionage analytics, and encryption technologies. The company believes that AI should enhance operational readiness, not simply generate data visualizations or theoretical reports.

The initiative invites government agencies, universities, and private sector partners to collaborate in developing Malaysia’s sovereign AI ecosystem. Through local manufacturing of Mongoosta hardware and AI assembly, the project will also generate high-value technical jobs and strengthen Malaysia’s role in the global cybersecurity supply chain.
